AVEVA unveils CONNECT, AI-driven industrial intelligence platform
Thu, 25th Apr 2024

AVEVA, an international player in industrial software, has revealed its newest innovation, CONNECT, at the Hannover Messe event. Developed as a state-of-the-art industrial intelligence platform, CONNECT is designed to offer decision-makers in a variety of sectors trustworthy and key insights.

CONNECT is a secure unified platform that integrates remote assets, applications from AVEVA, and data sources from third-party vendors to form a comprehensive industrial ecosystem designed for innovation. The platform utilises cutting-edge AI to share and unify contextualised industrial intelligence in the cloud, driving increased efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.

The platform addresses vital needs within the industry's digital transformation processes, such as streamlining workflows to real-time monitoring and control, enhancing remote collaboration, and maximising the complete lifecycle performance of industrial assets.

CONNECT acts as an open, neutral digital platform that encompasses the entire industrial lifecycle in real-time. It offers native data services, visualisation services, modelling and analytics capabilities, application development services, and service and usage management. All within a singular experience, the platform unifies data, the digital twin, industrial artificial intelligence, and specialised domain expertise. Built on the renowned software of AVEVA and leveraging the cloud capacity of Microsoft Azure, CONNECT empowers industries with scalable abilities that can unlock new levels of sustainability and efficiency.

Caspar Herzberg, CEO of AVEVA, spoke about the industrial intelligence platform at the Hannover Messe press conference. Herzberg stated, "The connected industrial economy will unlock the benefits of global collaboration across the industrial ecosystem. As the world’s leading industrial intelligence platform, CONNECT empowers industrial teams with a holistic understanding of the value chain and sparks real-time innovation at every level. Enhanced with analytics and AI, this unique and complete data ecosystem provides unparalleled efficiency in one frictionless environment, where teams are empowered to engineer smarter, operate better and drive profitability."

CONNECT accelerates the next wave of industrial digital transformation (Industrial DX 2.0). It facilitates improved efficiencies, productivity, and sustainability for companies, their partners, and clients by streamlining workflows to real-time monitoring and control, enhancing remote collaboration, and augmenting the complete lifecycle performance of industrial assets.

The platform enables industrial enterprises to maximise their technology investment in the cloud by combining remote assets, applications from AVEVA, and third-party data sources into a singular, secure platform. This forms a unique industrial ecosystem engineered for innovation. A recent survey conducted by IDC revealed that a vast majority (90%) of 1288 industrial C-suite and business leaders planned to maintain or accelerate their investment in their unique data ecosystems.

CONNECT is actively used by tens of thousands of users each month. It includes numerous products within its near-limitless boundaries, such as AVEVA PI System, AVEVA Operations Control, AVEVA Unified Engineering, AVEVA Advanced Analytics, AVEVA Asset Information Management, RIB CostX, and more. The CONNECT ecosystem is expanding to incorporate new and exciting partnerships that will form the crux of a new industrial applications marketplace.

Matt Kerner, CVP of Microsoft Cloud, also highly praised the intelligence platform: "CONNECT bridges the gap between operational technology and information technology. CONNECT seamlessly integrates data, enables real-time monitoring, leverages predictive analytics, and ensures cloud scalability. This solution empowers our customers to optimise processes, enhance quality, and drive efficiency."
